American Airlines is taking Texas barbecue to new heights-literally. Beginning in February, first-class passengers on flights from Dallas to New York will enjoy award-winning barbecue from Pecan Lodge, a Deep Ellum institution.

What’s on the Menu

The February offering features a barbecue platter with smoked brisket and sausage, creamy mac and cheese, coleslaw, pickles, and onions-all topped with Pecan Lodge’s signature sauce. In March, the menu shifts to a chopped briskit sandwich on a brioche bun, served with roasted green beans and creamy potato salad.

How to Get It

Meals are available exclusively in First Class on select flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to LaGuardia (LGA) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Passengers must preorder through aa.com or the American Airlines mobile app starting Jan. 11.

The Partnership

This is the first time Pecan Lodge’s slow-smoked meats-which regularly draw long lines and national acclaim-will be served aboard an aircraft.

Rhonda Crawford, American’s senior vice president of customer experience design and strategy, said:

> “As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honor unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas.”
