Lively and Swift’s conversation surfaced in filings tied to the actress’s lawsuit against Baldoni, who has denied all allegations. In one text, Lively asked Swift to look over the Colleen Hoover adaptation script because the singer was en route to Lively’s apartment, where Baldoni was present for a meeting.
Swift responded enthusiastically: “I’ll do anything for you !!”
Later, Lively thanked Swift and said she had recounted the entire interaction to her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
“You were so epically heroic today,” Lively wrote, according to the documents. “I recapped every moment to Ryan. I kept remembering stuff-You making s–t up about me and lenses. And referring to yourself as my doll. This clown falling for all of it. But also resisting it.”
She concluded, “You are the worlds absolute greatest friend ever.”
In a July deposition, Lively confirmed she told Swift she “don’t have to read” the script. She explained in the Jan. 20 filing that the phrasing was meant to ensure Swift felt no pressure.
“I sent Taylor the script on her way to my apartment because Justin was still there, and I asked her to read them,” Lively said in the deposition. “I told her she didn’t have to, I didn’t want her to feel pressured to do that, but I hoped that she would.”
News Of Fort Worth reached out to representatives for Lively and Baldoni but received no response. A representative for Swift also declined to comment.
Swift’s Name Previously Cited in Countersuit
This is not the first time Swift’s connection to Lively has surfaced in the legal battle. In a since-dismissed countersuit, Baldoni accused Lively of leveraging her friendship with Swift to gain more creative control over It Ends With Us.
Text messages included in the 2025 filing show Lively comparing herself to Emilia Clarke’s Game of Thrones character Khaleesi and referring to Swift and Reynolds as her “dragons.”
“For better or worse, but usually for better,” Lively wrote. “Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. you will too, I can promise you.”

A spokesperson for Swift denied any involvement in the film’s production beyond licensing her song “My Tears Ricochet” for the soundtrack.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie,” the spokesperson told Natalie A. Brooks in a May statement. “She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film.”
When Swift announced the track list for her upcoming album Life of a Showgirl, fans quickly focused on track six, “Ruin the Friendship,” speculating about its possible connection to the ongoing controversy.
