Fort Worth Public Library Launches Winter Reading List of 140 Books and Free Student Cards

This winter, NBC 5, Telemundo 39, and the Fort Worth Public Library invite families to read together. Over the next three months, the library will celebrate holidays such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Day, the Lunar New Year, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day and more. A winter reading list of more than 100 books covers holiday themes and crafts that families can enjoy together.

Winter Reading List

The library’s list features 140 recommended books, spanning board books, picture books and craft guides. Highlights include:

Free Library Card for Students

Students in pre‐K through 12th grade at any formally recognized North Texas school can obtain a free Fort Worth Public Library card. Holiday Crafting & Baking with Kids: Gifts, Sweets and Treats for the Whole Family by Jessica Strand brings step‐by‐step instructions, templates and color photos. Children ages four and up can choose materials and create gifts, decorations and treats for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, New Year’s and Boxing Day.
