McKinney Police responded to a welfare-check request on the 5300 block of Dunster Drive after relatives had not heard from the couple for several days. Officers initially left after no answer, but returned Sunday before 10 a.m. to find the victims in the living room. The victims were identified as Leonard Frank Ragan, 73, former city manager, and Jackie Ragan, 72. Their son, Bryce Ragan, 34, was found in a bedroom armed with a firearm. Two officers discharged their weapons, striking Ragan multiple times; EMS transported him to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.
